At BIDULES, we are opticians and deadstock glasses diggers. When not in this store, we hit the road and head to the birthplaces of the optic industry. With a lot of luck, a touch of boldness, and guidance from the archives we’ve collected along the way, we wind our way through valleys and villages where millions of frames were produced during the 20th century. Think Provincia de Belluno in Italy, or Jura in France. Once there, we obsessively comb through cellars and attics, questioning locals and entering closed-down factories to unearth old stocks from designers and manufacturers, whether they are small family businesses or bigger names. When we don’t have the opportunity to travel far, we track down retired opticians closer to our home in Brussels, browsing through their back rooms and learning from the best.

Since 2013 we have brought thousands of frames back to life and we hope to be doing just the same for years to come.
